How It All Began::
Weldon Goodnight, Sr. started building houses in Killeen on his own in 1947 after serving in the U.S.
Navy SeaBees in World War II and returning to Killeen to help work on building Camp Hood as a
carpenter laborer.  The current President of Weldon Goodnight Construction, Weldon Goodnight, Jr.
worked for his father part time and summers until he graduated from college and then completed an
eighteen year career with TXU Energy.

Weldon Goodnight, Jr. retired from TXU in 2002 as the Manager of New Construction for TXU Electric
Delivery.  His area of responsibility covered an area of Texas which included Killeen, Belton, Salado,
Copperas Cove, Lampasas, Burnett, Marble Falls, Round Rock and surrounding towns.  The years with
TXU provided Weldon with many practical business principles which he has incorporated into his
building practice today.
